What We Offer

Aims & Objectives

Businesses and residents in Lewisham Borough &  South East London are set to benefit from a new Education, Training, and Employment (ETE) Hub managed by Collab Training Academy and their partner, Goldsmiths Community Centre.

At the hub, we want to make sure that everything we offer is relevant to the needs of the community. We work closely with various partner organisations in order to provide the best support possible.

We are providing local residents with a new education, training, and employment initiative in order to address many of the current employability needs we have identified in the borough.

Starting from July, the goal is to deliver 2 funded employment surgeries every month (along with other projects) under the ETE Hub.

We also aim to expand our projects to other boroughs in South-East London and beyond.

Outcomes For Our Candidates

  • Gain career confidence, insight, encouragement and inspiration.
  • You should also feel as if the coaching relationship grants you some permission to relax and open up about your struggles.
  • The job search can create a fair amount of anxiety, fear and vulnerability in people, and so our goal is to unwrap those emotions so you can better understand how these factors may be impacting your career.

Benefits For The Community

  • The local community will be informed about all the employability options available to them.
  • Motivation for people to move away from crime and make positive choices.
  • A more engaged local community promotes community cohesion.
  • There will be an increase in how many local people are employed, in training or have taken the next step in order to achieve a life-sustaining career.
  • There will be a decrease in the number of people relying on benefits.
  • Those with existing jobs can up-skill in order to get more money and longer hours.
  • More money in the local area to grow the local economy.

The research we conducted during our events, revealed that people are struggling to find work and access support available during the lockdown. Therefore we created surgeries and workshops to help individuals get the support they need.

During the lockdown, we partnered with over 50 organisation to carry out data research in South-East London to find out how people were being affected by Covid-19. After looking at the information we found and results from other reports, we decided to set up employment surgeries to support more individuals who are struggling with their ETE plans

We are here to help any individual & business in South – East London with support and advice about ETE – whether they are looking for a paid job opportunity, finding a voluntary placement and everything in between, doing recruitment, offering work experience placements, and coaching & mentoring.
